IATF 16949 is a quality management system standard used in the automotive field that aims to continuously improve organizations related to automotive parts, prevent incongruity, and reduce dispersion and waste. The standard is used by IATF, which is formed with world-renowned automobile production corporates, including GM and Volkswagen, and automotive parts supply chains developed according to the ISO.
IATF 16949 is based on the ISO 9001 (Quality Management System) standard and includes additional system requirements for the automotive industry and is a mandatory certification to compete in the automotive industry.
