About

Halal, which means permitted under the Islamic law (Shariah), is a system that certifies that the product does not violate Islamic law. It is a certification made by the government or private organization of an Islamic country.

Recently, the certification is expanding its scope to not only food but also fashion, cosmetics, pharmaceuticals, tourism, and logistics industries. It is a certification which is mandatory for entering a Muslim society that values faith.

  • Fresh agricultural products, dairy products, fish, grains such as wheat, rice, and rye
  • Animals slaughtered according to Islamic law
  • Products that use 0.5% or less of alcohol in processing and products that contain 0.5% or less of alcohol in the final ingredients
  • GMO, genetically engineered foods
  • Animals not slaughtered according to Islamic law
  • Pork, pig blood, and pig derivatives
  • Predatory animals, birds of prey, reptiles, and insects
  • Alcoholic substances such as liquor

  • Cosmetics containing snail ingredient
  • Alcohol-free cosmetics
  • Cosmetics containing starfish extract
  • Cosmetics containing ingredients such as gelatin, collagen, and glycerin extracted from dog/pig
  • Hazardous chemicals such as mercury and lead

  • Household goods and industrial products such as water, toys, and electrical products that are not cross contaminated during transportation and manufacturing

  • Animal feed and growth hormone
  • Intentional/consistent contact with najis (unclean things)
