It is an abbreviation for Cosmetic Products Notification Portal under the European Commission and is an EU cosmetics registration portal.
According to the CPNP registration, products are registered before getting launched in the European market. Once registered, it is possible for the product to enter the entire EU market.
However, companies outside the EU must designate a RP (Responsible person), and the role of the RP is to be the legal person in charge of distributed cosmetics.
From 2021, due to Brexit, in order to release cosmetics to the GB (England, Scotland, Wales) market, it is necessary to register products for SCPN (Submit a Cosmetic product Notification) separately.
